OpenAI's AI and Mental Health Grant

Published on

We are thrilled to receive funding from OpenAI as part of their AI and Mental Health Grant Program for our project, “From Signals to Sensemaking: Safe AI Reasoning in Adolescent Digital Phenotyping.”

This grant is in collaboration with Dr. Alexandra Rodman and will enable us to explore how AI systems interpret ambiguous, incomplete multimodal data from smartphones and wearables when reasoning about adolescent mental health, with a focus on identifying and mitigating unsafe interpretation patterns. Our goal is to develop uncertainty-aware evaluation frameworks and design guidelines that promote cautious, context-sensitive, and developmentally appropriate AI sensemaking in mental health contexts.

Funding Amount: $100,000
